The Missouri Tigers, hopeful of making a move to challenge the likes of the Georgia Bulldogs atop the Southeastern Conference’s Eastern Division in 2018, have received strong pre-season recognition for their talent level this year, with seven Tigers named to the 2018 Preseason All-SEC team, selected by the league’s 14 head coaches on Thursday. The selections for Mizzou are the fifth-highest among conference schools trailing the 12 from Georgia, 10 from Alabama, nine from Auburn, and eight from Mississippi State.
Senior quarterback Drew Lock is joined by sophomore tight end Albert Okwuegbunam and senior punter Corey Fatony as first-team honorees. Senior defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr. is a second-teamer, while senior wide receiver Emanuel Hall, junior defensive back DeMarkus Acy, and junior placekicker Tucker McCann each earned third-team status.
Missouri opens the season at home this Saturday (September 1st), taking on Tennessee-Martin at 3 o’clock, with pregame at 1 on KTTN FM 92.3.
