The Kansas City Royals have announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Michael Ynoa to a minor-league contract. The 27-year old Ynoa last pitched in the big leagues with the Chicago White Sox, going 1-0 with a 5.90 ERA in 2017, with 29 innings pitched over 22 appearances.
Ynoa, a 2008 signee of the Oakland Athletics out of the Dominican Republic, spent 2018 out of affiliated baseball, having been released by Chicago in March. In 10 appearances with Aguuilas Cibaenas of the Dominican Winter League, he had a 0.87 ERA with 13 strikeouts and four hits allowed over 10 1/3 innings of work.
