The Kansas City Royals have announced an agreement to use T-Bone Stadium, the home of the minor league Kansas City T-Bones, as the team’s second site during the 2020 Summer Camp session. Those members of the Royals 60-man roster who do not make the active 30-man roster will be assigned to the facility, located near the Legends, Sporting Kansas City, and Kansas Speedway in Wyandotte County.
Royals Vice President and Assistant General Manager Scott Sharp said he was “extremely pleased to partner with Wyandotte County and the T-Bones” in the venture, noting the “proximity to Kauffman Stadium and Kansas City was a driving factor in the decision”.
Chris Brown, the Vice-President and GM of the T-Bones, said, “On behalf of owner Mark Brandmeyer and the T-Bones organization, we are thrilled to partner with the Unified Government and the Royals to allow them to train at T-Bones Stadium this summer”.
Due to COVID-19 health and security issues, all workouts at T-Bones Stadium will be closed to the media and public.
