The Kansas City Royals have announced their 31-game 2024 exhibition schedule in partnership with Major League Baseball. The Cactus League season will commence on Friday, Feb. 23, with the Royals facing the Texas Rangers as the road team at Surprise Stadium. The schedule includes 15 home games at Surprise Stadium and 2 games as the visiting team against the Rangers.
The Royals will have a busy spring training, playing 31 games in 30 days. They will have two scheduled off days on Monday, March 4, and Monday, March 18. Additionally, there will be three split-squad dates, where the Royals will field two teams and play two games, on Tuesday, Feb. 27, Friday, March 15, and Thursday, March 21.
Among the 14 other teams in the Cactus League, the Royals will face all but two of them at least twice. They have scheduled 4 games against the Rangers and 3 games each against the Guardians, Angels, Cubs, and Rockies. The Royals are also set to play 2 games each against the White Sox, Athletics, Mariners, Diamondbacks, Giants, Reds, and Brewers. Furthermore, they have a single game scheduled against the Padres and are not slated to face the Dodgers.
The Royals’ final exhibition game will take place on Saturday, March 23, against the Rangers. After that, they will have four off days before their regular season opener on Thursday, March 28, at Kauffman Stadium against the Minnesota Twins.
