Rock Port tips South Harrison, Lathrop by two points to win Brant Downey girls title

The Rock Port Lady Jays, with 102 team points, outlasted South Harrison and Lathrop to claim the girls championship at Thursday’s Brant Downey Relays at Lathrop High School.  Rock Port’s total was two points greater than the 100 racked up by South Harrison and Lathrop.  Polo tallied 25 1/2 points, with Winston 17, and Braymer 16.

The boys competition was controlled by the talented squad from East Buchanan High School, with the Bulldogs racking up 151 points.  North Platte’s runner-up total added up to 101, followed by Wellington-Napoleon (85).  Braymer had a strong day with 73 points, finishing in fourth place.
