The North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates will hit the road to West Memphis, Arkansas for the Central Plains District Championship game on Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The game between the Region XVI champion Lady Pirates and Region II champion Greyhounds will be broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7, KGOZ from Tune-In Radio, and KTTNSports.com.
The Lady Pirates, looking for a return trip to the NJCAA Division 2 national tournament in Port Huron, Michigan, have a season record of 22-6. Mid-South’s appearance in the game comes after an upset win over 20-2, #13th ranked Southern Arkansas Tech in Monday night’s championship game for Region II, 68-62. The Greyhounds record is 19-10.
The 2022-2023 national tournament will be held from March 21st through the 25th at St. Clair County Community College. The 2021-2022 Lady Pirates went 2-2 at the national tournament, finishing 6th place.
Earning 1st Team All-Region honors for NCMC are Maci Moore, Kennadie Crowe, Jordyn Gray, Ianara Morbidoni and MVP Nora Ford. For Moore, it is her third year as a 1st team selection. Ford has a pair of Region XVI awards plus second team honors from 2020-2021. Crowe has earned 1st Team status in back-to-back years, with this being the first such recognition for both Gray and Morbidoni.
