The Princeton basketball teams are in the South Harrison Tournament this week, headed in opposite directions with momentum as the season quickly approaches the halfway point.  Coming into the new year, the Tiger boys were unbeaten and ranked #2 in the state in Class 2, however, a two-night slump resulted in back-to-back losses to Green City and South Harrison, sending Princeton tumbling down to the #5 position this week.

While the Tigers did get back momentum with a dominating performance in the South Harrison quarterfinals, routing the South Harrison junior varsity, a late replacement for a Mercer team quarantined due to COVID-19 this week.

The Lady Tigers of Princeton are somewhat flying under the radar, but a deep squad filled with quickly improving youth has won seven games in a row, including two this week in Bethany, sending PHS into Friday night’s championship game against in-country rival Mercer, a squad on a six-game winning streak of its own.

Here are the latest interviews with coaches Bill Goodin and Damon Collins, airing between 3:30 and 4:00 on Thursday, January 14th on KTTN FM 92.3.

The Tiger teams return to Grand River Conference play next week, hosting Putnam County Tuesday, before a challenging back-to-back road trip to Polo on Friday and Gallatin on Saturday (January 22nd and 23rd).
