The Princeton basketball teams are spending this afternoon in practice, tuning up for visits from the Mercer Cardinals on Friday night. The Cardinals/Tigers games will be aired live on KTTN FM 92.3, with streaming audio from KTTNSports.com, starting at 5:50. The girls play at 6, with the boys game to follow.
Both Princeton teams played in the Albany Tournament last week, where the Lady Tigers earned sixth place with a 1-2 record, while the boys lost a pair of four-point games (Jefferson on 11/28 and Pattonsburg on 11/30). The Princeton boys rolled to their first victory of the season on Tuesday, 60-27 over North Harrison, as Calvin Berwanger had 14 points, Cameron Jones 13, and Blaine Millburn 10.
The Princeton girls picked up win #2 of the season on Tuesday, rallying for a win over North Harrison. Here is the weekly interview with Coach Wade Hall, originally aired at 3:30 on Thursday afternoon on KTTN FM 92.3:
The Princeton boys take on a Mercer team that, with a recent loss to Penney, fell out of this week’s Class 1 Top 10. The Cardinals made it to the Class 1 quarterfinals last March, with only a alley-oop lay-in on a half-court heave keeping Jeff Wyatt’s team from taking Glasgow to overtime. With the showdown with Mercer looming on Friday night, KTTN Sports Director Tom Johnson spoke with first-year Princeton coach Damon Collins about the season to date:
Princeton will open Grand River Conference play next week, hosting Trenton on Tuesday night on KTTN-TV, traveling to Gallatin on Friday (December 16th), before heading to Milan to play the Wildcats on Tuesday, December 20th.
