The final high school basketball polls for the 2019-2020 season were announced by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association on Monday, with Classes 1 through 3 having decided their state championships on the court earlier in March, while the Classes 4 and 5 championships, scheduled for mid-March, were cancelled due to building coronavirus concerns.
The Princeton boys reached the state quarterfinals in Class 1, falling to Platte Valley, with the Athletics losing one round later, in the state semifinals. Platte Valley finished in a 4th place tie, with Princeton 8th, while the quarterfinal-reaching Meadville Eagles ended in the 10th position.
After the program’s first-ever trip to the Show-Me Showdown, the Milan boys finished the season with a semifinal loss to eventual state champion Hartville, and a Class 2 fourth-place tie with Oran.
In the final girls rankings of the season, Platte Valley finished second in Class 1, with Norborne, a victim of the Athletics run in the state quarterfinals, ending 5th, and Green City, having lost in the state quarterfinal round to Community, finishing 7th.
East Buchanan, having won the Class 2 state title in Springfield, ends officially #1 in the final girls state poll, while in Class 3, Macon was in 3rd place, with the quarterfinal-reaching Maryville Lady Spoofhounds in the 5th position in the final state poll.
