University of Missouri center Bence Polgar, an offseason transfer from the University of Buffalo considered the front-runner to win the starting job left by Michael Maetti, will not be able to play for the Tigers in 2022.

Following Mizzou’s first practice of fall camp, head coach Eli Drinkwitz met with the media in Columbia:

Polgar was on the field in uniform for Monday’s practice.  His loss will bring three players to the front of the line in the August battle for the starting job, as senior Richard Taylor will be joined by sophomore Drake Heismeyer, and redshirt freshman Connor Tollison:

Polgar started 11 games for the University of Buffalo in 2021.  Missouri will open the 2022 season on Thursday night, September 1st, hosting Louisiana Tech at Faurot Field in Columbia.
