The Polo Panthers struck out 16 batters and broke open a scoreless tie with four runs in the bottom of the 6th, winning 4-0 over the Trenton Bulldogs in a combined no-hitter.
Starting pitcher Maverick Gentry fired 3 1/3 perfect innings, striking out eight batters, before being relieved by Gage Gilbert, who only allowed a base on balls in 3 1/3 innings while also striking out eight. Paul Crowse picked up the final out of the contest.
Wet field conditions in Polo moved the game to Burleigh Grimes Field in Trenton, although Polo remained the home team, batting in the bottom of innings. Â
Camden Skipper went the first 5 1/3 innings for Trenton, and was very strong before running into sixth-inning difficulties. Skipper struck out ten batters and allowed only three hits and three runs, although two were earned as Trenton had five errors defensively. Elijah Miller pitched the final 2/3 of an inning for the Bulldogs, and struggled with control, walking three batters and allowing an unearned run, with both of his outs achieved coming via strikeout.
