Play-by-play schedule set for PAR Broadcast Group’s 2017 football season

The 2017 high school football season is quickly approaching, with the first day of fall practice on Monday, July 31st, jamborees across the region on Friday, August 11th, and opening night of the regular season on Friday, August 18th.

The PAR Broadcast Group’s FM stations, Hot Country Z 101.7 and KTTN 92.3, will feature a mix of play-by-play broadcasts involving the Grand River Conference’s Trenton Bulldogs, Milan Wildcats, and Princeton Tigers.

All nine regular season games for Trenton’s second year in the GRC will be broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7, with two non-conference games opening the slate, as THS hosts the Lathrop Mules on August 18th, and travels to Lexington to take on a tough Minutemen squad in a district semifinal rematch on August 25th.

Trenton’s GRC opener will be the Bulldogs travel to Unionville to battle the Putnam County Midgets on September 1st.  On September 8th, the Princeton Tigers visit C.F. Russell Stadium, with THS in Milan to take on the Wildcats on September 15th.

As the season moves into its second half, Trenton hosts South Harrison on September 22nd and the Polo Panthers on the 29th.  A game with Maysville at the Wolverines’ “Cemetery Bowl” is scheduled for October 6th, with the regular season finale, and “Senior Night”, against the Gallatin Bulldogs on October 13th at C.F. Russell Stadium.

Two road trips for the Princeton Tigers and Milan Wildcats will open the play-by-play schedule on KTTN FM 92.3, with Princeton at Mid-Buchanan High School (Faucett, MO) to duel with the Dragons on August 18th, while Milan faces a tough road test in mid-Missouri, playing in rural Mokane, Missouri against the South Callaway Bulldogs on August 25th.  The following week (September 1st), Princeton and Milan play each other on KTTN, opening the GRC slate at Eddie Allen Field in Princeton.

The broadcast on September 8th features the annual “Border Battle” between arch-rivals Putnam County and Milan, with this year’s game being played at Cal Hubbard Field at Milan High School.  Princeton makes the trip east to play at Putnam County on September 15th, with KTTN bringing you the Princeton road game at Maysville on September 22nd.

The final three weeks of the regular season will have KTTN’s “Game of the Week” at Bethany on September 29th, where the South Harrison Bulldogs host the Milan Wildcats, with South Harrison’s game at Princeton on October 6th also on 92.3 FM.  The broadcast on October 13th originates from Milan, as the Wildcats host Maysville in the regular season finale.

District quarterfinals will be played on Friday night, October 20th, with broadcast information forthcoming at that time.

Sports Director Tom Johnson will handle play-by-play duties on 101.7 FM, with Trenton High School alum Tucker Franklin providing color analysis, while Dennis Stephenson will call the KTTN “Game of the Week” on 92.3 FM on Friday nights this fall.
