The Crowder College Roughriders took the lead midway through Saturday’s baseball game against visiting North Central Missouri College, and cruised to the 10-4 win over the Pirates, completing a two-game sweep of their Region 16 sub-region series.

North Central took a 2-0 lead after the 1st inning, with a single by Brendley Martina igniting the rally.  Martina came around to score on a wild pitch.  The Pirates, designated the home team in the game, despite playing in Neosho, held the lead until a three-run home run by Crowder’s Dylan Formby in the top of the fifth inning.

The combination of Formby, Jacob Adams, Drew Reilly, and Person combined for nine hits and eight RBI’s for the ‘Riders offense.  Kylan Easley was saddled with the loss for NCMC, going 4 2/3 innings, giving up six runs and two walks.

After taking the lead, Crowder pulled away from the Pirates, tacking on runs against the North Central bullpen with two runs in the sixth inning.  Crowder scored three runs in the fourth inning on a bases-clearing double by Reilly.
