The North Central Missouri College basketball teams each scored in triple digits on Tuesday night, claiming of pair of lopsided victories over four-school junior varsity competition from the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton.
The Lady Pirates jumped on the Missouri Valley Vikings early, leaping to a 26-6 lead after one quarter and winning 102-66. Angel Wiggins, Nora Ford, and Kennadie Crowe all scored 17 points for North Central, with Jasmine Taylor putting in 14 points and Maci Moore 13.
NCMC, on Saturday, will attempt to improve to a perfect 4-0 record in regular season Region XVI contests, hosting St. Louis Community College at 2 o’clock (KGOZ FM 101.7).
The Pirate men ran their winning streak to seven games, all inside the Ketcham Community Center, with a 104-67 win over the Graceland Yellowjackets. Isaiah Ervin scored 21 points to pace North Central, with Kolten Griffin, Darius Walsh, and Kam Bevel all scoring 11.
The Pirates will return to action on Thursday night at 7 o’clock in Creston, Iowa, playing the Southwestern Community College Spartans on Hot Country Z 101.7, with pregame hitting the air at 6:40. NCMC returns to the Trenton campus for a date with St. Louis on Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock. North Central, in the game at Southwestern, will be without Kolten Griffin, suspended by NJCAA rule for one game after his ejection in Tuesday night’s game after picking up two technical fouls.
