Catcher Salvador Perez hammered a game-tying homer in the bottom of the 9th inning, with Michael A. Taylor’s single winning the contest an inning later, as Kansas City defeated the AL Central-leading Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night by a score of 3-2.

Perez’s home run, his 24th of the season, came off AL saves leader Liam Hendriks.  Scott Barlow earned the victory, improving to 3-3, struck out two and walking one in escaping a jam in the top of the 10th inning.  Ryan Burr gave up the game-winning hit to Taylor, and suffered the loss, dropping to 2-1.

Solid in a road start, Chicago’s Lucas Giolito got a no-decision, after firing six inning of one run, four hit baseball, with seven strikeouts.  Kris Bubic was equally effective for Kansas City, with six-plus inning of two run, five hit baseball.
