The Penney Lady Hornets continued the best start in program history on Monday night, winning at Trenton High School against the Lady Bulldogs 25-17, 26-24. Jessica Richman led the Hamilton offense with 10 assists and six aces, with Ally Houghton adding four digs, and Elisha Westover six kills.
For Trenton, four players (Allena Allen, Olivia Roberts, Mackenzie Klinginsmith, and Evy McCullough) had two kills on the night. Allen added four aces from the service line, with Bekah Allen having four assists, and Jessa Shipley four digs.
The Lady Bulldogs junior varsity team grabbed a 25-23, 25-19 win over Penney, with Mackenzie Epperson leading the Trenton charge with six aces. Faith Baker had three, and Ally Yoder two aces. Kaylea Boyle and Yoder each had a pair of assists in the straight set win.
The Trenton C team won 25-20, 25-23 in a hard-fought duel with Hamilton. Sarah Washburn led Trenton with eight aces in the match.
