The Oakland A’s are exploring the possibility of temporarily playing in Smith’s Ballpark in Salt Lake City after their lease with the Oakland Coliseum expires in 2024. The team is in search of a temporary home before their new ballpark in Las Vegas is ready in 2028. Smith’s Ballpark, which currently hosts the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees, could provide a temporary solution, forcing the Bees to remain at their current stadium for an additional three seasons.

The Larry H. Miller Company, which operates Smith’s Ballpark, has expressed interest in accommodating the Athletics’ needs until their Las Vegas stadium is completed. The new ballpark in Salt Lake City is expected to have a capacity of 7,500 fans. The A’s have been exploring various options, including a return to the Coliseum, sharing Oracle Park with the San Francisco Giants, and considering Las Vegas Ballpark.
