The Trenton Bulldog boys golf team traveled to Richmond on Friday, participating in the Richmond Invitational at the Shirkey Golf Course.
The Bulldogs finished 16th in the 21-team field, with a team score of 414. The only below-par score on the par 71 course came from the tournament champion, Jaxson Nurski of St. Joseph Central, with a round of 69. Pat Johnston of Bishop LeBlond tied Trevin Cunningham of Maryville for the runner-up position at 75.
The team championship was won by Bishop LeBlond, with a four-man score of 318, followed by Maryville and St. Joseph Central, both at 336. Cameron finished in 10th place with a team score of 387, with South Harrison in 15th place, with a tally of 409, just five strokes better than Trenton.
Trenton’s top score was turned in by Riley Gott with a 94, followed by Kiefer Tolson’s 98, Hunter Ledgerwood 101, Bo Meeker at 121, and Jake Schmadeke 127. Gott finished in 43rd place, with Tolson tied for 50th.
For South Harrison, Quinn Taylor shot 98, joining Tolson in a 50th place tie, with Caden Littrell putting up a score of 99, Spencer Fitzgerald 105, Cooper Johnson 107, and Sutter Akins 108.
Brookfield, as a team, shot 464, good for a 20th place finish for the Bulldogs.
