North Central Missouri College athletics proudly boasted eleven NJCAA Academic All-Americans for the 2016-17 school year.  Men’s and women’s basketball each had three recipients while baseball had one.  Softball had the largest number of players earning honors with five.  Academic All-Americans must earn at minimum a 3.60 cumulative GPA for the school year.  “These individuals exemplify what college athletics is all about.  Not only did they excel in their sports but they showed that being a quality student, first and foremost, is very important,” remarked Sports Information and Marketing Coordinator Ryan Suttenfield.

The lone Pirate to earn 1st Team status (4.0 GPA for the year) was Jaclyn Weydert.  Jaclyn was a sophomore softball player from Brookfield, MO.

2nd Team honorees (3.80-3.99 GPA) were Breann O’Riley (softball, Hopkins, MO), Rachael Balke (softball, Lathrop, MO), Ryan Ward (men’s basketball, Waynesville, MO), and Harris Cameron (men’s basketball, Gallatin, MO).

3rd Team honors (3.60-3.79 GPA) went to Enrique (Alex) Madera (baseball, Willemstad, Curacao), Aubrey Nelson (softball, Gallatin, MO), Kelly Warford (softball and women’s basketball, Pattonsburg, MO), Adriana Segar (women’s basketball, Polo, MO), Kendey Eaton (women’s basketball, Mound City, MO), and Brandon Burden (men’s basketball, Hayti, MO).
