Northwest Missouri State announces 2023 M-Club Hall of Fame inductees

The 2023 Northwest Missouri State University M-Club Hall of Fame class has been announced, including seven individuals, the 2013-14 men’s tennis squad, and the 2013 Bearcat football team. The individual inductees consist of early age inductees Tom Funk (Baseball) and Kelly Greenlee (Volleyball), and modern age inductees Dr. Bob Boerigter (Director of Athletics), Adam Dorrel (Football), Matt Longacre (Football), Jacshelle Sasser (Track & Field), and Dave Tollefson (Football).

The induction ceremony for the Class of 2023 will take place on Friday, October 20, in the J.W. Jones Student Union Ballroom. They will also be recognized during the Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 21, against Pittsburg State. Tickets for the banquet can be purchased by contacting Kiersten Schneider via email (korton@nwmissouri.edu) or phone (660-562-1977). The deadline to reserve a spot at the banquet is October 1, or until tickets are sold out.

The M-Club Hall of Fame, established in 1980 for individuals and in 1989 for teams, will reach a total of 171 individual inductees with the addition of the Class of 2023.

In other news, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) has announced the schedule for the 2023 MIAA Football Media Day. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 25th, at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

The day will begin with an opening by MIAA Commissioner Mike Racy, followed by an overview of new rules and rule changes for the 2023 season from MIAA Football Supervisor of Officials Phil Laurie. Throughout the morning and afternoon, head coaches and two student-athletes from each team will participate in 15-minute press conferences. The schedule includes sessions for teams such as Missouri Western, Northwest Missouri, Nebraska Kearney, Fort Hays State, Emporia State, Washburn, Northeastern State, Central Oklahoma, Central Missouri, Pittsburg State, and Missouri Southern.

Fans can watch the press conferences live on The MIAA Network, free of charge. Media interviews with the participating teams will also be available during specified time slots.
