The North Harrison Lady Shamrocks stream-rolled their way through three games on Saturday, taking the championship of the Bill Hill Softball Tournament in Albany by a combined score of 24-3.
In the quarterfinals, the Lady Shamrocks beat the host Albany Lady Warriors 6-1. The Gallatin Lady Bulldogs doubled up #6 seed Princeton in the quarterfinals 6-3, saddling the Lady Tigers with their fourth loss in a row. In the semifinal between the Shamrocks and Gallatin, the Eagleville girls dominated, cruising to a 12-1 triumph and moving into the championship game. Princeton had its losing streak hit five in the consolation semifinals, falling to Albany 7-3.
On the top half of the bracket, Stanberry rolled into the semifinals with a first-round win over North Andrew, while #5 seed King City was impressive in taking down #4 seed Worth County 9-1. An upset followed in the semifinals, as King City edged Stanberry 7-6. North Andrew moved to the consolation final with a 13-3 thrashing of Worth County.
The championship game went to North Harrison, in a 6-1 final score over King City, while Gallatin rebounded nicely from the semifinal blowout, claiming third place in a hard-fought 4-3 final over Stanberry. Meanwhile, Princeton salvaged the final game of their day, ending their five game losing streak with a 8-1 take-down of Worth County.
Princeton looks to keep momentum going into Monday night, hosting in-county rival North Mercer at Gentry Field.
