Nebraska head football coach Matt Rhule has announced that starting left tackle Teddy Prochazka suffered a knee injury during Monday’s practice in Lincoln. The tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in the 6’10” junior’s right knee will shelve him for the upcoming season.
The anticipated replacement at the position could be redshirt freshman Gunnar Gottula, who moved into the left tackle job with the #1 offense for the rest of the week.
Last season, Prochaska played in 10 games, including the final five games of the campaign as the starting left tackle. In 2022, he started three games before a knee injury ended his season. The year prior (2021), he played in five games before an ACL tear.
In addition to Prochazka’s injury, Rhule announced that freshman Roger Gradney also suffered a season-ending knee injury.
