The NCMC Women’s Golf team traveled to Sedalia, MO, on Monday and Tuesday to compete in the SFCC Roadrunner Classic held at Sedalia Country Club. The Lady Pirates finished second in the team standings after a Round 1 score of 373 and a final round tally of 371.

Head Coach Nate Swann said the Sedalia course was in great shape for this time of the year. It was cold and windy on Monday; however, Tuesday brought much better temperatures, allowing the girls to learn from their mistakes on day one and post a very respectable team score. In comparison to last week, the NCMC girls improved their 36-hole team score by about 70 shots, so Swann is proud of how they responded and hopeful they can keep the momentum going this spring.

The Lady Pirates were led by Kennedy Dickerson and Haley Baskett, both finishing tied for fifth in the event after shooting twin 36-hole scores of 182. Dickerson was consistent, shooting a 91 on both days. Baskett reached her total by shooting a 98 on Monday and then improved that total by 14 shots, firing an impressive score of 84. Mollee Olszowka posted a 90 on Day 1 and a final round 95 to reach her two-day tally of 185. Skyler Powers rounded out the Lady Pirate scoring with a solid 36-hole score of 195.

The NCMC Women’s Golf team will be in action next Monday and Tuesday as they head to Fulton, MO, to compete in the William Woods Spring Invitational held at Tanglewood Golf Course. Shotgun start times for the Lady Pirates are to be determined.
