North Central Missouri College will be hosting the NJCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Division II Central Plains District Championships on Saturday, March 5th at the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton, MO. Tipping off at 2:00 p.m., women’s Region XVI champion North Central Missouri College will host Region II champion SAU Tech out of Camden, Arkansas. Following the women’s game, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the NCMC Region XVI champion men’s team will take on SAU Tech with hopes of securing a 4th straight trip to the national tournament. The gates will open at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Winners of each game will move on to the NJCAA DII Basketball Championship tournaments. The women’s tournament will be held in Port Huron, MI from March 15th-19th. The men’s tournament takes place in Danville, IL from March 15th-19th.
Admission prices for the game are $10 for adults, $5 for students with a valid ID and free for those age 8 and under. Pirates basketball season ticket passes, Ketcham Community Center members, and NCMC employees will all have to pay admission to the game since this is a NJCAA sanctioned postseason event; no passes honored for free admittance. Red Seat card holders will still get their seats, but must pay the gate fee.
Tickets go on sale at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2nd at the Ketcham Community Center front desk. Tickets can be purchased from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday March 2nd-4th, or at the gate after 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5th. 1,250 tickets will be sold and cash only will be accepted.
The 2 o’clock game on Saturday afternoon can be heard on Hot Country Z 101.7, with Tom Johnson on the play-by-play call. The 4 o’clock game will be on KTTN FM 92.3, with a simulcast broadcast from Rick Cole of Pirates Digital Media from the Ketcham Community Center.
