COLUMBIA, Mo. (NCMCPirates.com) – The NCMC Lady Pirates kicked off their Region 16 tournament Friday with a 5-1 win over St. Charles Community College. With the deluge of rain, this was the only game completed for the Pirates who will resume action on Tuesday, May 2nd at 9:00 am against Jefferson College in the second round.
In the game, the Lady Pirates got strong offensive performances from leadoff hitter McKinley Hurley (2-3, 1 run, 2 RBI), sophomore Jaclyn Weydert (2-4, 1 run, 1 stolen base), and cleanup batter Georgia Gibler (2-3, 2 RBI). Earning the win was sophomore Allison Hilsabeck who threw 5 innings allowing 3 hits and no runs.
