NCMC softball, behind shutout pitching and Weydert’s hitting, win twice at Missouri Valley

The North Central Missouri College softball team won a pair of games in Marshall on Sunday afternoon, beating the Missouri Valley junior varsity 5-0 and 11-0, improving to 3-1 on the spring season.

The Lady Pirates received a complete game shutout from Alison Hilsabeck in Game 1, with Hilsabeck, Jaclyn Weydert, and Bethany Jacobsen all contributing two hits in the win.

Jessica Stupar continued the Lady Pirates superb pitching in the second game, as the Canadian sophomore twirled a complete game four-hitter, racking up seven strikeouts against the Vikings. 

Weydert, a Brookfield native, went 3 for 5 with three runs scored and three RBI’s, while Amber Austin and Breann O’Riley each had two hits in the Game 2 win.

The Lady Pirates season continues with Games #5 and #6 of the campaign, Thursday afternoon at the Ottawa (KS) University junior varsity.
