Kennedy Childers, a first baseman from Putnam County High School in Unionville, Missouri, is the latest softball recruit for NCMC coach Steve Richman.  Childers has been a 3 year All-Conference (Tri-Rivers and Grand River) and All-District performer and named to the All-Region Team for 2 years.

“Kennedy is a great signing for us.  She excels at first base and is a great hitter.  She put up very good numbers in high school and comes from a tradition rich program.  Kennedy has been a pillar for the Putnam County softball program and I expect her to bring that same intensity and leadership to NCMC.  Like many of our other signees, she is a fabulous person who is involved in many activities off of the field,” remarked Richman of Childers.

On the field, Kennedy compiled excellent career numbers.  She scored 55 runs and drove in another 81 with a career batting average of .427.  Even more impressive were her off the field accomplishments.  She was a winner of the Daughters of the American Revolution essay contest.  She also earned All-State honors on the Putnam County academic team plus won her school’s Courtesy Award for her strong character.
