Both North Central Missouri College basketball teams won their opening-round games Monday in their respective NJCAA Division Two tournaments. The men are competing in Danville, Illinois, while the women are in Joplin, Missouri.
The NCMC Men’s Pirates defeated Indian River State College from North Dakota by a final score of 93 to 72. The game was broadcast by Sports Director Tom Johnson on KGOZ FM 101.7 Monday morning. The next game in the tournament for the men will be Tuesday, at 9 a.m. as the Pirates take on 4th-ranked McComb Community College. That game will be broadcast on KGOZ FM 101.7.
The NCMC Lady Pirates were victorious today, defeating Southwest Michigan Community College by a score of 79 to 63. The women advance to play tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11 a.m. vs the tournament’s top seed – Johnson County Kansas Community College. There’s no broadcast allowed for the women’s tournament games.
