NCMC men’s golf opens the season at Lamoni

The North Central Missouri College men’s golf team participated in the Graceland University Invitational on Thursday, joining the host Yellowjackets, Missouri Valley College, Clarke University, Iowa Central Community College, and Southwestern Community College in Lamoni, Iowa.

Finishing in the Top 15 for the Pirates was freshman Cody Glenn from Lawson, with a four-over par round of 76, Lewis Hopkinson finished one stroke behind Glenn at 77, in a 17th place tie, with Scott Swayne two shots further back at 6 over par 78,  tied for 22nd place.

Easton Klaver shot 11 over par 83 and Nate Swann a 12 over par score of 84 for the Pirates, who finished in 7th place as a team with a score of 314 (26 over par), only 15 strokes behind the champion score of 299 by Missouri Valley and Iowa Central.

Other scores for the NCMC Pirates were Teague Mudd at 83, James Gardner 84, Seth Gladbach 89, and Tommy Sagun 90.

The Pirates will ‘tee it up’ on Monday and Tuesday of next week at the Evangel University Fall Invite.  The tournament will be played at the Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Missouri.
