Coming out of the 2015-2016 basketball season, adding size to the roster was priority #1 for Head Coach Jenni Croy going into recruiting season.  The Lady Pirates had limited size last season, with both Maggie Graves and Camille Buttorff graduating from the program.

With two recent signings, NCMC may be well on its way to returning to a big, physical, and bruising team.  On Thursday, Kirksville High School senior forward Sarah Lamp signed with the Lady Pirates.  The 5’11” forward was all-North Central Missouri Conference and all-district in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.  She also made the All-Star team for NCMC Holiday Hoops, played on her future home floor at the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton.  She broke the Kirksville school record for points in a game (37) and broke the 1,000 point plateau in her senior year.

The Lady Pirates added a center to the roster with the signing of 6’0″ senior Madison Gonseth of Murray Community High School in Murray, Iowa. Madison participates in National Honor Society, softball, volleyball, and basketball.  In basketball, Gonseth was named second team all-conference, first team all-conference, all-region, and third-team all-state.

The two signings add to a 2016 recruiting class that started earlier this month with the signing of Mound City High School guard Kendey Eaton, who led the Lady Panthers to the Class 1 Missouri state championship at Mizzou Arena in March.
