Shortstop Haley Berghager has signed with NCMC softball to continue her playing career. Berghager was a 2nd team All-District performer for a Lathrop Lady Mules team that placed 4th in the state in 2016 and won the state championship in 2015.
Trenton Lady Bulldog softball fans should be familiar with Berghager and the Lady Mules, having lost 5-0 in the Class 2 state sectionals and 4-3 in the state quarterfinals to Lathrop over the past two October’s.
Haley carried a .264 batting average her senior year while scoring 31 runs and driving in 12. One of the biggest strengths of the future Pirate is that she puts together very strong at bats and consistently gets the ball in play.
“Haley is a well-rounded player that I believe fits our program nicely. Not only will she be good for us on the field but she is solid in the classroom and has the type of overall character we look for in our student athletes,” commented NCMC Head Coach Steve Richman.
