North Central Missouri College has filled three staff positions, with two representing new hires, with the other an internal transfer. The Board of Trustees has also approved the purchase of a new state-of-the-art scoreboard for the Ketcham Community Center.
Trenton native Craig Sager has been hired as the first men’s golf coach at NCMC, leaving his position as General Manager of the Green Hills Golf Course in Chillicothe. Sager, in addition to his coaching duties with the Pirates, will serve as Marketing Specialist, with his new job duties taking effect on Tuesday, August 30th. Sager has been at Green Hills for the past three years. Prior to that time, he worked at Riverside Country Club in Trenton. For the marketing position, his salary will be $38,000. The coaching stipend is $2,500.
Current North Central employee Ryan Suttenfield has been named the first-ever Sports Information and Marketing Coordinator at the Trenton school, starting those duties on Thursday, September 1st. He will continue as an Assistant for the men’s baseball program under Donnie Hillerman. Suttenfield’s salary will be $30,000.
Suttenfield’s transfer comes after serving as Residence Life Coordinator at Ellsworth Hall since 2012. Taking that position for the 2016-2017 school year, and named men’s assistant basketball coach for first-year Head Coach Jeremy Esry, is Eric Penrod of Fort Collins, Colorado. Penrod most recently was an assistant coach at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, Wyoming. His salary at NCMC will be $27,253. He will be provided with an apartment in Ellsworth Hall and a college meal plan.
Regarding Ketcham Community Center coordinators, Lesli Wyatt-Collins will receive a pay increase to equal that of her colleague : Jeremy Esry. Each will receive a $32,000 for KCC duties. Mrs. Wyatt-Collins has a coaching stipend of $1,687 for her work as assistant women’s basketball coach under Jenni Croy.
Purchase of a new electronic scoreboard, with video capability, has been authorized by the Board of Trustees. It is expected to be in use for the basketball season at Holiday Hoops, in addition to events like graduations and conferences. The NEVCO scoreboard is described as “state-of-the-art”, with player names, points, fouls for home and visitors, a 22 foot bottom advertising panel, and a 9 by 6 foot LED electronic video board. The cost of $47,378 includes a contract for maintenance.
It was also reported that the 12th annual NCMC Holiday Hoops, set for December and January, has a new record of 59 schools contracted, with 107 total basketball teams ready to compete inside the Ketcham Community Center over the upcoming holiday season.
