LAMONI, Iowa (Story by NCMC SID Ryan Suttenfield) – The men’s North Central Missouri College golf team competed at the Graceland Invitational on Thursday.  This was the first meet for the newly minted team.  The team carded a 333 score on the day.  Missouri Valley won the day with a team score of 282 and also had the medalist golfer, Hamish Gorn, who scored a 69 and won on the second hole of a playoff.

Lane Beverlin and Wyatt Gregory led the way for the Pirates with scores of 79 and 80 respectively.  “This was a great opportunity for our guys to see just how good you have to be to play college golf.  I think it will motivate them to continue practicing and compete at a higher level.  They’re good kids that want to play great golf but are going to have to wrap their heads around playing against some of the best college golfers from around the world.  It’s not the start that they wanted, but I’m confident that we will get better each tournament,” stated Coach Sager.

The Pirates compete again on September 28th at the Iowa Wesleyan Fall Invitational in Fort Madison, IA.
