The North Central Missouri College Pirates, led by a pair of six-over par scores from Lewis Hopkinson and Cody Glenn, finished in third place out of 10 teams at Thursday’s season-opening Graceland University Fall Invitational.

The Pirates finished with a team score of 306, with Hopkinson and Glenn’s total tying them for 12th place individually.  Scott Swayne, Jasper van der Zon, and James Gardner all finished at 7-over par for North Central, in a 15th place tie.

Making their first appearance as freshman for the Pirate links team were Pirmin Kamm (10 over), Lathan Croy (11 over), Van Barr and Kade Meineka (both 17 over), and Colton Barnes, at 19 over par.

Coach Craig Sager was excited by his teams’ play, telling KTTNSports.com, “Our returners all played well as tied our program’s scoring record at 306.  That being said, I’m sure each of them would tell you that they missed opportunities.  The competition got better over the summer and we’ve got to figure out to get to their level.  Chasing people isn’t fun!”
