The Kansas City Kansas Blue Devils used a balanced attack and a defensive effort that held visiting North Central Missouri College to just 70 points, with KCK taking a 82-70 win on Monday night at the KCK Fieldhouse.
Starting guard Cortez Howlett paced the Blue Devils with 20 points. North Central guard Isaiah Ervin had a game-high 29 points for the Pirates, hitting 7 of 9 three-point shots. However, the rest of the starting lineup combined for just 17 points. The bench had 24 points for coach Jeremy Esry.
The North Central women and men open Region XVI play on Saturday afternoon at Metropolitan Community College, with coverage of the doubleheader hitting the air at 1:40 on Hot Country Z 101.7.
