For three quarters in Sunday afternoon’s game at William Woods University, the North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates struggled to gain an advantage, trailing the host school’s junior varsity, 53-52 after three quarters.  However, a 29 point explosion in the final quarter sent NCMC to their ninth victory of the season, 81-66.

Playing on the William Woods campus in Fulton, balanced scoring was the order of the day for Jenni Croy’s team, as only eight players saw action, with five of them hitting double digits in points.  Kendey Eaton scored 19 points and added five assists, Sarah Lamp had another double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, McKinley Hurley put in 12 points, Kelly Warford came off the bench to score 11, and Jami Nickerson added 10 for North Central.

The now 9-5 Lady Pirates will host the University of St. Mary junior varsity on Wednesday night at 5:30 at the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton, followed by the 6-4 Pirate men hosting the Missouri Valley JV at 7:30.  On Saturday afternoon, weather permitting, NCMC will open Region 16 play, hosting St. Louis in 1 o’clock (women) and 3 o’clock (men) games from the Trenton campus.
