In a standout Tuesday night performance from the Ketcham Community Center, the North Central Missouri College’s men’s basketball team racked up an impressive 89-69 victory over #14-ranked John Wood Community College. The win propelled the team’s record to 7-3, with their next scheduled game set for Wednesday, November 29th at Southwestern CC in Creston, Iowa (7:30 PM – KGOZ FM 101.7).
Giovanni Mack led the offensive charge, contributing a sizzling 30 point effort. Mack showcased his shooting accuracy with a 10-of-14 field goal record, including four successful three-pointers. Tyler King provided solid support, adding 17 points to the team’s scoring effort, including two successful three-pointers. Isaiah Reams contributed 14 points, displaying shooting efficiency with a 6-of-12 field goal record, including two three-pointers. Joe Clark made valuable contributions on both ends of the court, tallying 11 points and securing six rebounds.
In a commanding performance to open the night, the newly-minted 4th-ranked team in the country secured an 80-57 victory against John Wood Community College, with the NCMC Lady Pirates maintaining their perfect 7-0 record.
Bailey Fleming led the offensive charge with an exceptional shooting display, contributing a team-high 18 points. Fleming excelled from beyond the arc, connecting on 6-of-8 three-point attempts. Jessica Reeter and Mary Copeland played pivotal roles in securing the win, tallying 10 and 9 points, respectively. Nateonia Russell facilitated the offense with nine assists, five rebounds, and five points.
Off the bench, Novinger native Abbi Fountain made a notable impact, registering 9 points and an impressive 13 rebounds, showcasing her presence on the boards. Defensively, the Lady Pirates limited John Wood to 25.8% shooting from the field and dominated in rebounding with a total of 52 rebounds compared to their opponent’s 31.
