NCMC baseball has signed Pharon Pilgrim, an athletic outfielder/pitcher from the island of Curacao, for their incoming freshman class.  “Pharon is a dual player with good arm strength, speed and athleticism.  Pharon will likely add depth to our bullpen and provide strong defensive play to the outfield.  He is a dynamic runner with offensive potential,” remarked head coach Donnie Hillerman of the recruit.

Pilgrim will join four returning players from Curacao.  Freshmen Enrique Madera and Quinsly Balentien have been starters in the middle infield all season for the Pirates while Terrence Goeloe was getting many innings behind the plate before a season ending injury.  Xeno Daal has provided an outfield bat off the bench.  “We have been able to get some good physical talent from Curacao.  Players with their measurable abilities are hard to come by in the state unless you have lots of scholarship money to give,” commented assistant coach Ryan Suttenfield.

Pilgrim joins a solid recruiting class for the Pirates.  “It’s exciting to have good recruits signed for next year to add to an extremely talented freshman class.  This should help us continue to build the program,” added Hillerman.
