DETROIT (TSX / STATS) — The NBA Board of Governors formally approved the Pistons’ relocation to downtown Detroit on Thursday.
The Pistons will play in the Little Caesars Arena after spending 29 seasons at The Palace of Auburn Hills in suburban Detroit.
The Pistons initially agreed to move to the new downtown arena in November. The Board of Governors recently concluded its analysis of the 35-year-deal lease agreed to by Detroit.
The NHL’s Red Wings will also call the $863 million facility home.
