The Southeastern Conference (SEC) unveiled its conference schedule on Thursday, finalizing the 2023-24 schedule for the Missouri men’s basketball team.
In this 18-game SEC schedule, the Tigers will engage in home-and-home series with five opponents, while hosting four other schools at the newly renovated Mizzou Arena and traveling to face the remaining four.
Mizzou’s pursuit of a conference title commences on Saturday, January 6, as they welcome Georgia to Columbia for the SEC opener. The Tigers will also host South Carolina (January 13), Florida (January 20), Arkansas (January 31), Texas A&M (February 7), Mississippi State (February 10), Tennessee (February 20), Ole Miss (March 2), and Auburn (March 5) during league play.
On the road, the Tigers will face Kentucky (January 9), Alabama (January 16), Texas A&M (January 23), South Carolina (January 27), Vanderbilt (February 3), Ole Miss (February 17), Arkansas (February 24), Florida (February 28), and they will wrap up the season with a game at LSU on March 9.
Details such as tip-off times and television broadcast schedules will be announced at a later date.
Overall, the Tigers’ 31-game schedule comprises 17 home games and includes 25 matchups against schools from the top seven conferences in the nation. This includes six games at Mizzou Arena against teams that qualified for the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
Following a successful season that saw them secure 25 wins, their highest tally in 11 seasons, the Tigers are eager to continue their upward trajectory under the leadership of second-year Whitten Family Men’s Basketball Head Coach, Dennis Gates. During the 2022-23 campaign, Mizzou achieved victories over six nationally-ranked teams, won their first NCAA Tournament game in 13 years, and reached the SEC Tournament semifinals for the first time in program history.
