The Chillicothe Mudcats and St. Joseph Mustangs were among the teams having a night off on Monday night across the MINK League, as teams began the sprint for playoff positioning coming out of Sunday night’s All-Star Game at Shaffer Park.

In Monday night game action, Sedalia split a doubleheader with Jefferson City, with the Bombers winning the opener 8-3, with the nightcap going to extra innings, with the Renegades going eight innings to salvage a 5-4 triumph.

The Carroll Merchants hammered a listless Clarinda squad 10-0, with Joplin rolling to a 9-2 win over Nevada.

On Tuesday night, St. Joseph travels to Indianola, Iowa to play the Des Moines Peak Prospects in a 5 o’clock doubleheader.  Chillicothe returns to league action with a 7 o’clock home date with Carroll.  Elsewhere at 7 o’clock, Clarinda visits Nevada, with Jefferson City at Joplin.
