The University of Missouri Tigers, if the preseason prognosticators are correct, could have a challenging 2019-2020 men’s basketball season.  In the annual preseason poll, in voting by a select panel of both SEC and national media members, Mizzou was chosen to finish in 13th place in the 14-team SEC.

For the ninth consecutive season, John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats were the choice to win the Southeastern Conference championship, marking the 15th time UK was chosen since the 1998-99 season.

The preseason SEC men’s basketball player of the year was Kerry Blackshear of Florida.  He is joined on the first team by Reggie Perry of Mississippi State, Anthony Edwards of Georgia, Ashton Hagans of Kentucky, and Breein Tyree of Ole Miss.

The 2019-2020 season begins November 5th, with SEC play beginning on January 4th.  The 2020 SEC Tournament will be played from March 11th through the 15th at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
