Missouri men’s basketball has secured its second commitment from the Class of 2024, as Marcus Allen announced his decision to join the Tigers. He chose Missouri over offers from Miami, Michigan, Arkansas, Ohio State, and Stanford. Allen revealed his commitment on 247Sports’ YouTube channel.

Allen highlighted the family atmosphere as a standout aspect of Missouri that influenced his decision. He emphasized his trust in Coach Dennis Gates and Coach C.Y. Young, both of whom are Black men in the industry, and their potential impact on his future and career.

The allure of Missouri’s player development program and its track record of sending two players to the NBA in the previous season also played a role in Allen’s choice.

“Coach C.Y. has a proven blueprint for guiding players like me, with similar profiles and builds—such as Scottie Barnes and Terance Mann—into the NBA. So, it only makes sense for me to follow that path and blueprint,” Allen explained.

Hailing from Miami and attending Norland High School, Allen is a 6-foot-7, 190-pound forward. He spent his junior year at AZ Compass Prep, the same school that Mizzou freshman forward Trent Pierce attended. During his freshman and sophomore years at Norland, Allen maintained an average of 15.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. He also competed as a member of the Florida Rebels in the EYBL circuit.

In the Class of 2024, 247Sports ranks Allen as the nation’s 55th player and the 9th forward. He is also recognized as the 9th-best player in the state of Florida.

Allen’s commitment marks the Tigers’ second addition to the 2024 recruiting class. Four-star guard Antonio “T.O.” Barrett previously committed to Mizzou in June.

Allen described himself as a tenacious player, highlighting his strong defensive and offensive abilities. He expressed enthusiasm about joining Missouri next year, noting his eagerness to contribute on both ends of the court.
