Kansas City Chiefs starting center Mitch Morse will miss Sunday’s AFC West game in Los Angeles against the newly-relocated Chargers, after being diagnosed with a foot sprain, suffered in Sunday’s win over Philadelphia at Arrowhead Stadium.

Morse is expected to miss “a few weeks” with the injury, with Zach Fulton expected to replace the former Missouri Tiger during his time on the shelf.

According to a tweet from NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Morse will not need surgery on the injury, after team doctors gave the foot an MRI and CT scan.

Coming off a daunting start to the season that included wins at Super Bowl Champion New England and a tough Eagles squad, Kansas City’s schedule, headed toward mid-season, looks less daunting, with the trip to face the winless Chargers followed by games against Washington and Houston.  The game with the Texans will be a Sunday night contest on NBC.
