Montgomery overtakes Croy on final hole, wins medalist honors for Chillicothe in Riverside dual

The Chillicothe Hornets and Trenton Bulldogs locked horns in a head-to-head boy’s golf dual at Riverside Country Club on Tuesday afternoon, with the Bulldogs taking the team victory, while a duel between Hayden Montgomery and Lathan Croy came down to the 9th hole, where Montgomery finished off a round of 37 to take the individual honors.

Croy, a Trenton High School senior, had the lead heading into the final hole, but shot a 4-over par score of 8, to finish with the runner-up tally of 40.  Prior to the 9th, Croy had shot a two-under par score of 30.  

Trenton’s team score of 199 was eight strokes better than Chillicothe’s mark of 207.
