COLUMBIA, Mo. (MUTigers.com) – Mizzou Women’s Basketball will host defending Southland Conference champion Abilene Christian on Friday, Nov. 11 in the first round of the Preseason WNIT. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT at Mizzou Arena. It will mark the first ever meeting between the Tigers and Wildcats. Both programs are making their debut in the Preseason WNIT.
The eight first-round contests of the tournament will be played on Nov. 11-12. Winners will advance to second-round games slated for Nov. 13-14. The semifinals will be played on Nov. 17 while the championship contest will tip at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, Nov. 20 and will be televised nationally on the CBS Sports Network.
Mizzou finished 22-10 in 2015-16, marking the first 22-win season for the program in 32 years. The Tigers also earned the program’s first NCAA Tournament victory since 2001 and made the first appearance in the Big Dance since 2006.
Abilene Christian went 26-4 last season and 17-1 in the Southland. The Wildcats won the Southland Conference Tournament and were selected to the WNIT.
