St. Louis native Torrence Watson has become the fifth Missouri Tiger to announce an intention to transfer from the program since MU’s season-ending loss to Oklahoma two weeks ago.
Watson’s decision to enter the transfer portal was confirmed Wednesday by a team spokesperson. The departure will end a disappointing run at Mizzou for the 6-foot-5 Watson, who arrived on campus as a highly-touted recruit, but could never find his consistent three-point shooting touch at the Division One level. He averaged only 1.8 points per game as a junior for Cuonzo martin.
Only three Tigers who were not seniors for this year’s team have not entered the transfer portal, a short list that includes Kobe Brown, Javon Pickett, and Jordan Wilmore. Missouri has a transfer coming into the program, in guard Amari Davis of the University of Green Bay, and will now have four open scholarship spots to fill for the 2021-2022 season.
