Missouri added another team to its non-conference schedule Thursday. According to Central Arkansas’ athletics website, the Bears will play the Tigers on Dec. 30 at Mizzou Arena. The time has yet to be released.

Last season, the Bears went 9-22 and 4-14 in the Atlantic Sun Conference under Anthony Boone. The fifth-year head coach had high praise for both Missouri and Oklahoma, who Central Arkansas plays two days before coming to Columbia.

“Oklahoma and Missouri are two really solid programs,” Boone said via Central Arkansas’ athletic website. “And playing them just one day apart will prepare us for when we play in conference and have to play games very similar to that when we go on the road and not have much breaks in between.”

It will be the second meeting between the Tigers and Bears going back to 1949. The last time both teams met came on Nov. 6, 2018, where MU defeated Central Arkansas 69-55 in Columbia behind 19 points from Mark Smith and 16 from Jeremiah Tilmon.

In the first meeting between the two programs on Dec. 18, 2010, it was again Missouri that came away victorious with a 116-63 demolishing of the Bears. Seven Tigers recorded double-digit scoring totals, with Marcus Denmon leading the way with 21 points with Laurence Bowers adding 20 of his own on eight of nine shooting.

Central Arkansas is the sixth known non-conference opponent on the Tigers’ schedule. Missouri will take on Memphis (Nov. 10) and Wichita State (Dec. 3) at home, Pittsburgh (Nov. 28) and Kansas (Dec. 9) on the road and Illinois (TBA) in St. Louis.
