University of Missouri defensive lineman Rocel McWilliams has decided to transfer.  A football team spokesman confirmed the information to the Columbia Daily Tribune on Tuesday morning.

McWilliams was entering his third season with the MU program.  He red-shirted in 2014, but did not appear in a game as a freshman last season.  Coming out of West Florida Tech High School in 2014, McWilliams was a three-star recruit, choosing Mizzou over Minnesota, Florida, and Memphis.  He was high school teammates with current Mizzou Tigers offensive lineman Nate Crawford and kicker Luke Jackson.

While talented, the Tigers suddenly appear thin at defensive end, with only five players on scholarship at the position going into the fall.  That group is made up of Marcell Frazier, Charles Harris, Walter Brady, Nate Howard, and Spencer Williams.  A four-star recruit out of Columbia Rock Bridge High School, Tre Williams, signed with the Tigers in February and will be a true freshman this fall.  Tre, due to depth issues, may be counted on to play immediately at Missouri.
