Junior forward Jacob Crews finalized his transition from the transfer portal by signing with Missouri men’s basketball for his final season of eligibility.
Crews becomes the first commitment in what is expected to be a busy offseason in the portal, following a disappointing 8-24 season with no Southeastern Conference wins.
During the 2023-24 campaign at the University of Tennessee-Martin, Crews ranked as the No. 22 3-point shooter nationwide, leading the Skyhawks to a 21-11 record and the program’s first Ohio Valley Conference title in 15 years.
As of Wednesday, Crews was ranked as the eighth-best small forward and the No. 45 player in the portal, according to 247Sports. He will join the Tigers alongside the nation’s No. 5 freshman class, aiming to compensate for the loss of production from Sean East II, Noah Carter, and Nick Honor, who exhausted their eligibility.
Mabor Majak and Curt Lewis have both entered the transfer portal, and Jesus Carralero MartÃn is expected to follow suit. Caleb Grill, John Tonje, and Kaleb Brown may return next season if they opt for medical waivers after enduring prolonged injuries. Grill and Tonje may also explore professional opportunities or enter the portal, while Brown may choose to transfer.
